Upscaling your video from SD to Full-HD offers significant benefits.

1) Enhanced Image Quality

Upscaling improves the overall appearance of the image, making it sharper and reducing jagged edges, most notably on diagonal lines. This enhancement is best appreciated on an HD or UHDTV. The process involves extensive computer processing, and while the results are not miraculous, they are markedly improved.

2) Wide-Screen Format Adaptation

The transition to a wide-screen format allows us to eliminate black side bars, giving your video a full-framed appearance. You can choose to maintain the original 4:3 aspect ratio with black side bars, or opt to stretch the image to fill the screen (our default), using a subtle and blurred effect to cover the side bars. This method is increasingly popular for videos originally recorded in a vertical format. Unlike other services, we offer this adjustment at no additional cost.

Additional Image Enhancement Considerations for Cameras Lacking Internal Image Stabilization

Image stabilization can significantly improve video quality, particularly when the camera operator's hands are not steady or when filming motion activities such as walking, boating, or driving. To achieve a steadier image, we crop approximately 4% from the outermost edges of the footage, making it more enjoyable to watch. However, there is a notable drawback when the camera’s internal "superimposed date on image" feature is active. During playback, the date may appear to jump around, which can be distracting.
